I grew up in Tokyo, Japan, where my parents were missionaries. I was adopted at 2 weeks old into a family of Dutch descent (a bunch of toe-heads!). We are a close family. I have a sister and two brothers (one of my brothers is also adopted). I am a Pacific-Islander: half Japanese and Filipino. After 20 years of church-planting in Tokyo, my parents decided to come back to the States (I was 13) and we ended up in California. Here’s something obscure: On one of our family trips on furlough I stole a bunch of jewels from a little store in Bethlehem (this was a long time ago, I was a child). I used to be a supplier at an import/export showroom of semi-precious stones and pearls and worked with several top jewelry designers, and have since become a jewelry designer myself (mostly a hobby now, but I occasionally sell to stores). I left a career in Property Management/Multi-Family Housing after being in the industry for 7years as a manager/bookkeeper. I like to sing, play piano, paint, make jewelry, cook, read, travel, and hang with my family and friends. I love animals and visiting animal shelters.
